tutorials from my shed

Introduction to Series 1

I live deep in the Devon countryside and have my studio here from where I run workshops but I also make tutorials for my YouTube Channel that I hope will enable you to share in my creative adventures. My method is simply to record what I am doing as I am working in my studio, explaining to you as I go along as if you were with me. There is minimal planning and quite a few experiments that usually work out well.
In these tutorials you will see that I am often using a fantastic product called Porzella. It is an air drying, very fine white papier mache porcelain clay that is made by a company called Rayher. It comes in a 400 gram pack. I am also using a modelling fabric made by them - a Plaster of Paris impregnated gauze. This company's products are widely available in Europe and from retail stores - maybe near you so do check their website and try their 'store locator'. Siligum is available from ebay.
There are lots and lots of variations and recipes for making air dried porcelain online.
Warning - I have a little moment when I revert to a petulant child and have a little hissy-fit half way through, when interrupted but decide to carry on despite saying in a big huff " now I'll have to do it all over again - grrrr!"

Now I am in Cornwall for a few months -

Now I move into my new studio back in Devon so shall be filming from there in Series 2.
